Woburn Safari Park

Week one of the summer holidays and we spent a lovely afternoon out at Woburn Safari Park. Despite it only being a half an hour drive from home it was our first ever visit and we had the most amazing time. We drove the safari in our car first amongst free roaming lions, tigers, and giraffe, a family of monkeys hopped onto the roof and huge bears came padding past the window. After, we explored the park on foot as the children pointed out meerkats, giggled at the penguins flapping, watched a live bird show and sailed the lake in a giant swan boat in the gorgeous summer sunshine.

Woburn Safari Park is a wonderful place to take a family, with on site parking, restaurants, gift shops, loads of animals and such a rare experience of bringing nature to you. Unlike most zoos where you stand behind barriers and look at animals through cages, at Woburn there are free roaming enclosures where lemurs hop around carrying their young, goats come over for a tickle and birds fly amongst you. Millie (6yrs) and Gabriele (2yrs) absolutely loved every second of it and didn’t stop smiling all day. A huge thumbs up from the Kiss family and we shall certainly go again!
