Pain-Free Healthy Gums

Very annoyingly I have suffered from mouth ulcers pretty much all of my adult life. As soon as I miss a nights sleep or start to feel run-down then one, or even several mouth ulcers pop up on my gums within hour, are incredibly uncomfortable and this then makes it even harder for me to sleep!

Treating Mouth Ulcers For Pain-Free Healthy Gums

Mouth ulcers are caused most commonly by a stressed and an adrenaline-fuelled lifestyle; encouraged moreso by a lack of sleep, inadequate diet and emotional pressure – so that’s basically every parent and employee on the planet at risk, right? Thank goodness I’ve finally found a solution that works!

Whilst persistent mouth ulcers are a reaction from the body’s immune system to stress, hormonal changes and anxiety, tiredness can also be caused by a lack of B12 or iron deficiency – all adding to the mix of being run down. Surprisingly women, adolescents and people with a family history of mouth ulcers are most at risk – these canker sores are small, painful lesions which develop in the mouth at the base of the gums, making eating, drinking and even talking very uncomfortable as to me it feels like being stung over and over again by a wasp or nettle in my mouth.

In desperation to rid myself of this reoccurring pain and discomfort I have tried literally every product available on the market – even having my doctor prescribe me a medicated mouth rinse when my mouth ulcers were at their very worst. When mouth ulcers appear you should try your best to avoid spicy or sour foods to minimise irritation, drink plenty of fluids, rinse your mouth with warm salty water, take pain medication to sleep and apply an antiseptic gel to the ulcers. A brand that I’ve found to work the best for my reoccurring mouth ulcers is Genigel.

How Hyaluronic Acid Heals

With their patented range of oral care products, Gengigel utilise the natural healing properties of hyaluronic acid to treat a range of oral conditions associated with soreness and inflammation. Their range targets minor bleeding, soothes soreness and alleviates pain whilst promoting rapid healing and clears up my ulcers a treat.

Gengigel Promotes Pain-Free Healthy Gums

The words ‘Hyaluronic Acid’ may sound scary to some, however it naturally occurs within healthy connective tissues within the body, working specifically to regulate the healing and repair process. Whilst our bodies naturally produce hyaluronic acid to keep us in good health, with age, when we are unwell or when trauma and infection is present we need an extra helping hand to return to good health which is why these high-quality, safe products are so effective.

Using a muco-adhesive membrane to ensure that the hyaluronic acid firmly attaches to the mouth ulcer, a protective saliva-resistant barrier is instantly created over the wound to treat and protect the inflamed areas from germs by providing, and stimulating, cell growth and repair.

Recommended and used by dental professionals, Gengigel has been the most effective method I have used for treating my mouth ulcers and their range can also treat food burns, dry mouth, denture and braces abrasions, gum recession, inflamed and bleeding gums and lesions.

Healthy Gums For The Whole Family

I keep a range of their oral spray, mouth rinse and oral gel in my bathroom cabinet, ideal for treating the entire family as my seven year old son frequently tries to eat hot food too quickly and burns his mouth, whilst my daughter is just about to have her first set of braces – a friction that I’m all too familiar with, but highly worth doing as I love my straight white teeth.

The Gengigel Oral Range Are A Bathroom Cabinet Must Have!

The mouth rinse can be used for 1-2 minutes at a time up to 3-4 times daily and it’s recommended that you avoid food and drink for the first 30 minutes after use. It’s analgesic properties soothe and relieve oral pain and really take the edge out of the sting of my ulcers.

The mouth gel can be applied directly to the affected area up to 3-4 times daily, much like the oral spray which can be used 3-4 times daily too. Whilst my daughter prefers to apply gels to a problematic area herself, my son is slightly younger and therefore appreciates the instantness of a spray without having to touch anything, it’s really down to personal preference. Personally, I find a combination of the three is ideal as I use the mouth rinse throughout the day, keep the oral spray in my handbag and apply the gel after mealtimes.

Available from Boots, Superdrug and Lloyds Pharmacy, the range is easily accessible and can be conveniently found on most high streets or online. They are very reasonably priced and make a painful and distressing time so much easier to manage as they all reduce and relieve symptoms pretty quickly compared to other brands that I’ve tried, leaving me free to go about my hectic day without the added stress of oral pain.
