Find Your Perfect Nanny

There are many different things you need to consider when you are looking for a nanny. First and foremost, you need to decide whether you want a nanny to live with you on a permanent basis or you are looking for temporary help. You then have a number of other options to think about, from the contract to your expectations.

Selecting a nanny is not only about finding someone who has the correct qualifications. It is more than this. This is why there are a lot of expert nanny agencies out there who can help you to select the right candidate for you.

There are lots of nannies out there, but not all nannies are suitable for your household. If you hire a nanny via an agency, they are going to be able to do all of the checks into the individual’s experience and qualifications so that you don’t have to. That means their employment history will be confirmed, and their educational background as well. Agencies will also run a DBS (formerly CRB) check. This will give you peace of mind when hiring a nanny for your home.

For instance, let’s say you and your partner have broken up and you’re dealing divorce solicitors, you may believe it is best to have a nanny come to your home at certain times throughout the week, however, a live-in nanny may be better so there is someone there constantly for your child. Of course, every situation is different and this is why the best nanny agencies will consider your individual needs and they will cater their service to suit this.

You also need to carefully consider what sort of services you want from your nanny. Not only does every household differ, but all nannies differ too. Not only do you want to consider what sort of services they are going to provide, but also their personality and how they are going to fit in with your household. For example, do you want your nanny to have a specific routine with your child, or do you want the relationship to be a bit more flexible and more natural? A lot of families like to look for multi-cultural nannies as well so that they can help their children to learn another language. This is something you may be interested in.

You also need to think about whether you want your nanny or wear some sort of uniform or whether they can be suitable casual. Also, are there going to be any other childcare arrangements, for example, do the child’s grandparents get involved?  Do you need the nanny to be able to drive so that they can take your child to school and pick them up? If you make a list of everything that you need, it is going to be a lot easier for you to find the perfect nanny for you and your household. It’s not about being picky; it is about ensuring the transition is as seamless as possible.
