Apricot & Raspberry Yogurt Drops

The children love eating yogurts as they’re a great source of calcium and come in many fruity flavours. Being a lovely sunny afternoon today, we decided to experiment with yogurt and made some apricot and raspberry drops for an afternoon treat.

It’s super easy and fun to do, and the children are able to make it from start to finish as there’s no cooking or chopping involved. We started by selecting two yogurts, Millie chose apricot and Gabriele chose raspberry. The children then spooned the yogurt onto a plastic plate in little drops using a teaspoon, making sure that they were spaced evenly apart so that they didn’t touch and could set into shape.

They then chose to top their drops with sugar strands which Millie sprinkled over the top. We then placed the drops into the freezer for around fifteen minutes and they were ready to eat. They make a lovely alternative to ice cream, and as they’re bite sized they make the perfect treat that doesn’t get wasted or melt too quickly. You can try as many different toppings as you like, from chocolate chips, dried fruit, fresh fruit, cookie crumbs or even toffee pieces. And there are hundreds of flavoured yogurts available to make the drops, with Greek yogurt being a low-fat alternative.
