The biggest smile creeps across my face every time that I hear the rumble of rollercoasters, accented with screams of delight and the tantalising scent of sugary treats dancing through the air! Thorpe Park is gearing up for a colossal 2025 season, and you won’t want to miss it! Whether you’re a seasoned thrill-seeker, grab a group of friends for an adventure, or a family looking for a memorable day out, the island like no other is promising a year packed with adrenaline-pumping experiences. So come with me to take a peek at their grand opening…

I had the most hilarious group photos of my friends and I on rides as teenagers, squealing and pulling faces, which I proudly displayed on my bedroom walls with ticket stubs and keepsakes for many years until eventually leaving home.
I continued the tradition of collecting silly-faced family photos with my children each time that we visit, and I love how you can turn every ride into a cherished memory with digital, printed or framed pictures and gifts that also make great presents for birthdays and Christmas too.

A Thrill-Seeker’s Paradise:
Thorpe Park’s roster of iconic rides is a thrill-seekers dream come true, and if you haven’t rode all of the big coasters yet, you should definitely make 2025 your year to tick them off! How many of these have you already experienced? And if so, have you rode the front row?
Stealth:
The front row on Stealth is a visceral experience. The sheer acceleration from 0 to 80mph in under two seconds is amplified when you’re at the very front, feeling the full force of the launch. The unobstructed view as you climb the 205ft vertical ascent intensifies the anticipation, and the subsequent drop feels even more dramatic with nothing between you and the wind. The front row transforms a rapid burst of speed into a truly breathtaking moment of pure adrenaline and I’m totally here for it!

Colossus:
While Colossus is known for its ten inversions, the front row provides a unique perspective on this twisting maze of steel. You’ll feel the full force of each inversion, with an unmatched sense of exposure as you’re flipped and turned. The front row allows you to anticipate each twist and turn, enhancing the disorienting yet exhilarating experience. The lack of any visual barrier makes the ride feel even more intense, turning a wild ride into a truly immersive one.
Nemesis Inferno:
The front row on Nemesis Inferno plunges you into the heart of the volcanic landscape. The feeling of flying through the air, with your legs dangling, is heightened by the unobstructed view. The rush of wind and the feeling of weightlessness during the inversions are magnified, creating a truly immersive experience. The front row allows you to fully appreciate the ride’s layout and the sensation of soaring through its unique terrain.

Saw – The Ride:
The front row on Saw – The Ride heightens the suspense and terror. The beyond-vertical drop is even more daunting when you’re at the very front, offering a chilling view of the plunge. The claustrophobic sections and sudden turns feel even more intense, as you’re completely exposed to the ride’s dark and twisted environment. The front row amplifies the sense of wickedness, making the ride a truly terrifying experience.
Hyperia:
Hyperia in the front row is an absolute must. The record breaking height and speed are felt in their entirety from the front. The initial climb becomes a moment of pure anticipation, followed by a completely unobstructed view of the exhilarating drop. The feeling of weightlessness is amplified, as there’s nothing between you and bright blue skies, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the ride’s dynamic twists and turns. The front row provides a unique, visceral experience, transforming a thrilling ride into an unforgettable, almost transcendent adventure that makes you feel like you can fly.

Fun For The Whole Family:
Thorpe Park isn’t just about high-octane thrills though, as there’s plenty of attractions to keep families of all ages and abilities entertained, ensuring everyone has the most fantastic day out. Some other highlights of the park that you may like to see are:
- Derren Brown’s Ghost Train: Rise of the Demon: A unique and immersive experience that blurs the lines between reality and illusion with live actors. This psychological thrill ride is one of my sons favourites and makes catching the train home at closing time all the more exciting.
- The Walking Dead: The Ride: As a survivor of a post-apocalyptic world filled with walkers, you feel drawn into an escape mission with their immersive indoor coaster and live action during events.
- Numerous smaller rides and attractions: There are so many cute, colourful and gentle rides to cater to younger visitors, as well as face paints, live shows and key attractions throughout the year – so be sure to check the calendar for what is on when you visit!

Why Visit Thorpe Park?
Quite honestly, there is something magical for everyone, from families looking to enjoy an exciting adventure or capture cherished memories with little ones to thrill-seeking groups of friends conquering their fear of heights. It’s also perfect for couples looking for a cute date idea to laugh all day long and win giant teddybears, as well as solo riders enjoying the freedom of exploring alone and setting your own pace.
Who doesn’t love having a cold ice-cream in the sunshine whilst listening to the tunes and beat of the ride music as the atmosphere becomes electric with each step that you take bringing you closer to the turnstyle. The adrenaline of being buckled into the seat as the ride countdown begins and your heart starts racing, the unstoppable smile on your face as you soar through the air and feel absolutely invincible, and the thrill of hitting the gift shop whether you collect keychains and trophies, your favourite ride t-shirt, cap or hoodie or the hilarious ride photos. Every moment is so magical.

When you plan your trip this year, in order to make the most of your visit, be sure to book your tickets in advance online to get the best deals and times. Remember to check the opening times and event schedules for special events and themes throughout the year. It’s also super helpful if you download the Thorpe Park app for ride waiting times and a park map to hand should you need it, and always wear comfortable shoes and check the weather.
You can’t go wrong with a pair of trainers and casual or sports wear, I usually take shorts and a vest in summer and jeans and a hoodie in the winter. You can also bring a change of clothes or poncho if you’re going on wet rides and pop it into a backpack with a refillable bottle of water to stay hydrated throughout the day.
So grab your loved ones, get ready to clock up some serious steps, and smile for the ride cameras because Thorpe Park 2025 is shaping up to be an unforgettable year. I’ll race you to the front row!
