I am a complete and utter candle addict, there is nothing more delightful than a lovely hot bubble bath, candles and a glass of wine after a long and stressful day. I find myself drawn to the candle aisle in supermarkets and stores, sniffing the mouthwatering scents and perfumes and ooh’ing and ahh’ing over the waxes that I can match to each rooms accent colour. What could be more exciting for a candle lover than a large jar Yankee Candle, I’m in heaven.
Here I have the fresh cotton fragrance which smells beautifully of sun-dried cotton combined with green notes, white flowers, and a hint of lemon and provides a burn time of 110 to 150 hours of fragrance. Not many people realise, but with all candles and particularly large ones, the first burn is the most important. Candles should burn one hour for every inch in diameter of the candle size, so my candle here needs a minimum of 4 hours to liquefy the entire top layer of wax. If the wax is not allowed to liquefy or to melt from edge to edge it will create a memory ring which will continue to tunnel down and burn only the centre of the wax limiting the life of the candle.
At £19.99 this beautiful candle is a loving addition to every home. I see so many Yankee Candles as table pieces for weddings and parties and they make the perfect gift for friends, family and work colleagues secret Santas. There are a whole range of candles available in each fragrance, from small, medium and large jars all the way down to tealights to suit your every need and budget.
