Positive With Tracy: A Mindful Guide To Self-Love, Healing & Becoming Your Strongest Self

There are moments in life when I think we all need a reminder that growth isn’t measured by perfection. It isn’t about having everything figured out or always feeling happy, but continuing to nurture ourselves, even through life’s storms.

That is why I wrote Positive With Tracy, as this book began as an idea rooted in one simple truth: every one of us is like a garden. We all have seeds of hope, dreams waiting to blossom, weeds that need removing, and seasons that challenge us before new growth can begin.

Rather than writing another self-help book filled with impossible expectations or quick fixes, I really wanted to create something gentle, comforting and practical. A book that feels like taking a peaceful walk through a beautiful garden while learning how to care for the most important thing of all; ourself.

Each chapter uses the natural world as a metaphor for personal growth. From preparing the soil and planting seeds of intention to watering healthy habits, pruning away what no longer serves us, and embracing the changing seasons of life. Every lesson reminds us that flourishing is a process, not a destination.

One of the most important messages throughout the book is that gardens are never in full bloom every day of the year. There are quiet seasons, difficult seasons and moments when nothing appears to be happening beneath the surface. Yet even then, growth still continues, silently. I believe the same is true for us all.

I wrote this book for anyone who has ever felt overwhelmed, stuck, anxious or uncertain in life. It’s for those rebuilding after heartbreak, learning to love themselves again, chasing a new dream, or simply searching for more peace in a very busy and loud world. Whether you’re navigating change, overcoming self-doubt, or looking for daily encouragement, I hope that these pages become a place of comfort and inspiration for you.

As a single parent, athlete and someone who has experienced both incredible highs and very challenging lows, I’ve learned that resilience isn’t about never falling, but continuing to grow through each and every season. Nature has always been one of my greatest teachers in life, reminding me that patience, kindness and consistent care create the strongest of roots so that we may all bloom.

Growing up in the beautiful English countryside, my safe place has always been my beautiful garden. And that is the heart of Positive With Tracy. Whether you choose to read a chapter each morning with your coffee, keep it beside your bed for an evening reflection, or gift it to someone who could use a little extra encouragement in life, my hope is that it helps you to cultivate more joy, gratitude, confidence and self-compassion in your everyday life.

As a keen philosophy and psychology student, I throughly benefitted from continued studies and development long into my twenties and thirties whilst raising my two children alone. Sitting exams each summer, I thrived on understanding tips and techniques around healing from past trauma and nurturing the mind for optimism, as well as enhancing optimum mental health, which we all know is closely tied to our physical health.

In healing myself, I also discovered how to positively impact those around me and improve their quality of life through unconditional love, compassion and kindness. I wanted this book to feel like walking through a quiet garden, where every flower reminds you that growth takes time, every changing season teaches you something new, and every page gently encourages you to breathe a little deeper, love yourself a little more, and believe that brighter days are possible.

Positive With Tracy is more than just a self-help book, I hope that you will see it as a heartfelt companion, for anyone longing to feel calmer, kinder to themselves, and at peace with who they are.

There are many techniques and lessons tucked within the pages which I feel are less overwhelming when considered in the garden. From gentle guidance to build self-love and confidence, to practical mindfulness exercises to bring you back into the present moment.

There are sprinkles of bite-sized psychology and neuroplasticity explained in simple, encouraging ways, with visualisations to help you to feel calm, safe and in control of your life. I really enjoyed mixing in self-care ideas and meaningful activities to nurture your mind and body, along with journaling prompts and reflections to help you to celebrate your progress.

One of the aspects that makes me smile is the text-message style reminders that I dotted throughout, as to me, they feel like little love notes that I hope you may read throughout your day. Whether you’re healing from heartbreak, overcoming childhood bullying, rebuilding your confidence, navigating anxiety, or simply longing to feel happier and more fulfilled in life, this book gently reminds you that you have never been broken, you have simply always been growing.
