Nothing quite makes the house feel like a home on the countdown to Christmas like a beautiful scented candle and a cosy evening in.
We’re a family of fragrance lovers and feel so at peace with the lights down low, candles flickering and beautifully rich and fruity scents of nature filling the lounge. I was invited to take peek at Yankee Candles exclusive new Christmas range to celebrate the countdown to Christmas and what a treat it was!
In this collection of the Countdown to Christmas candles from Yankee Candle there are five new and exciting scents to discover which include: Twinkling Lights, Tree Farm Festival, Merry Berry, Letters to Santa and Christmas Eve Cocoa to suit every taste and style of Christmas.
Something I know my sweet-toothed son will absolutely love is the Merry Berry candle with aromas of sugar plum and raspberry notes blended with scents of butter cookies to capture the magic of baking traditional family recipes to share with loved ones.
The next fragrance Tree Farm Festival reminds me of long chilly winter walks with my father as we gather fir cones and fallen leaves to paint and press for the table centrepiece.
This candle makes a home smell of Christmas with enticing scents of pine, vetiver and gardenia to instantly transport you to a rich woodland even if your own tree is artificial.
Next up is a candle that is perfect for my daughter because of her love for hot cocoa and marshmallows as soon as the grey skies and early evenings creep in! And I adore the soft pink tone of this candle which glows so beautifully making the house feel super cosy and sweet.
This Christmas classic becomes a new tradition with the twist of cocoa and sweet vanilla scents which blend with notes of praline and mint to create a tempting treat to share with family and friends.
Next up is my personal favourite from this collection, Twinkling Lights, as it’s a scent that is beautiful throughout Christmas and beyond and fits perfectly into our monochromatic home styling.
This festive blend of almond, jasmine and amber notes and divine and adds an elegant and uplifting touch to the lounge, perfect for enjoying a glass of warm mulled wine and watching Christmas movies.
And finally this is one for my mother with a familiar scent that’s also altogether new in the Letters To Santa candle which has notes of papery woods and amber sweetened by sugared musk scents to evoke the excitement of writing to Santa for both young and old.
My mum has always loved writing letters to friends and family, thank you cards, thoughts and well wishes throughout Christmas, special occasions and beyond and so this is perfect for her. This scent reminds me of childhood, holding my mums hand in the post office queue, surrounded by parcels and packaging mixed with the sweetness of confectionary which we were allowed to have on the way out if we behaved.
The Yankee Candle countdown to Christmas event was such a wonderful way to get into the festive spirit and explore the new scents that are exclusive to this season.
It was lovely to meet the team and experience the candles lit for their full effect and fragrance because it allows you to fully appreciate all of the beautiful notes within.
I particularly liked their advent calendar gift set which features a selection of beautiful candles and accessories to open each day on the lead up to Christmas to make the home feel magical and give as the perfect gift for loved ones – the ornate boxes can also be repurposed to package other gifts!
After enjoying all of the Christmas candles I then participated in a calligraphy writing lesson whilst immersed in the scent of Letters To Santa and felt transported to the North Pole! Calligraphy is such a fine and beautiful detail to add to your gift tags and greetings cards which really puts the finishing touch on gifts for loved ones.
The event finished with a spot of cookie decorating with the Biscuiteers where the Merry Berry candle filled the room with sugary sweetness, lights twinkled and we piped Christmas colours onto cookies of our choosing to take home to the family.
It was such fun to learn the art of icing biscuits and I picked up some great tips and techniques to bring my new found skills home to my own kitchen to make this Christmas extra special for the children – perhaps with their names on Christmas cookies!
I now feel so festively inspired to transform my home into a winter wonderland with some stunning new scents from my favourite Yankee Candles as I use my bag of tips, tricks and window transfers to bring the magic of Christmas to life.
Large Yankee Candles have a burn time of 110-150hrs each to see us through this festive season and use paraffin wax for a clean and consistent burn with a lead-free wick made from 100% natural fibres in a 100% recyclable glass jar which is great for upcycling. May the crafting commence!
