This weeks Femme Luxe fashion haul is my LBD edit, or little black/blue dress edit, here I have hand picked a few of my favourite bodycon mini dresses because they’re so cute and I literally couldn’t choose just one.
Let’s take a peek at the pro’s of each dress to find the perfect one to wear for a date night…
Kicking things off with my love of black dresses and I chose this beautiful black one-shoulder piece because I love how simple and classy this style is, with a strong feminine feature of exposing the shoulder and arm.
My right arm is tattoo’d which this tucks away nicely to make my skin more neutral and understated. With a sweeping neckline this dress is sassy yet sophisticated at the same time and is quite a show stopper for evening cocktails or a candle lit dinner.
Moving onto satin dresses, I spotted this beautiful navy number and loved the plunging neckline and corset detail to the bust – although upon trying it on it may be a bit too in-your-face for candlit conversation given wandering eyes.
The zip-up back helps this dress to fit like a glove and the wide adjustable straps make it so comfortable and supportive without compromising on style. Perhaps I can wear it with a blazer or blouse to better manage my ample bust.
Finishing up with one shoulder dresses and this variation on my first dress which I loved so much, this one has the addition of a side split. Again, being tall and rather curvy I wasn’t sure quite how far this split would travel on my curves and I think it’s safe to say that this is probably more club wear than restaurant worthy because of it.
I love how feisty and bold this asymmetrical one-shoulder split combo is and will definitely rock it on holiday. Whilst it doesn’t quite meet my criteria for date night I still love it and will wear it on another occassion instead.
I’m channelling my inner Goldilocks as I conclude that dress number three has too much of a side split for date night so will be club/holiday wear, dress number two has too much cleavage so I’ll wear it with a blouse or blazer instead and dress number one is just right!
Whilst fashion trends may not always appear instantly suitable for every body type, a few simple tweaks, adding accessories or extra layers can make most outfits suitable for a variety of occasions and I can’t wait to rock all three of these beautiful dresses this season.
