With summertime comes parties and I’m loving the prospect of getting glammed up for sexy and sophisticated black tie events this season. Whilst browsing from my bubble bath a few evenings ago I thought I’d add a few new high-end pieces to my wardrobe in preparation – pass the champagne and cue FemmeLuxe Finery!
You really can’t go wrong with wrap dresses because they create such killer curves whilst discreetly concealing every lump, bump and wobbly bit – essential after a few glasses of wine and one too many hors d’oeuvres!
This beautiful dress has me channeling Marilyn Monroe and is one of the few all-white pieces that I own and that’s why I love it so much. I love how it fits like a second skin, is classy yet revealing and has a sophisticated twist in white which can accessorise easily to golf or silver jewellery.
Another favourite of mine are jumpsuits and I’m head over heels for the buttoning detail on the navel of this beautiful black piece. Somewhat navy inspired, I adore how jumpsuits are the best of both worlds, more glam than wearing leggings or skinny jeans and more practical and comfortable than wearing a dress, shorts or skirt.
With the shoulders and arms exposed by the mid-cut backline and halter neck, this is sassy sophistication at its finest and works as the perfect transitional piece to take you from the office to unexpected rooftop cocktails of a Friday evening.
A girl can never have too many co-ords – fact! It’s been quite a few years since I first rocked flares, but this matching set brings back fond memories from my childhood with a happy free-spirited twist and so I just had to have it.
Exposing the ribs with this high-waisted cut adds a splash of excitement, with the floating hemline bringing the perfect swoosh to every strut. Teamed with a bikini inspired crop top I just love everything about this outfit.
Let’s finish up discussing classic little black dresses and what makes them a girls best friend. For me, a good little black dress is one that fits well, makes you feel confident and turns heads for all of the right reasons.
What I love most about this gorgeous satin number is the delicate shoulder straps which cross over at the back, the cowl neck creating a sexy and adjustable neckline and the fit being so flawless and flattering that I effortlessly pop curves every time I stand, sit or walk.
So these are my top black-tie picks for the season ahead which I’m sure you’ll enjoy just as much as I do. Whenever you pick an outfit for a special event or glamourous evening out always remember to think of the cut being suitable, the comfort of the fabric and fit and its ability to expand after a few drinks and nibbles.
Whilst I love a little black dress which is great for concealing splashes, marks and stains around food and drink, sometimes it’s a bold move to wear white but a fashion statement that always pays off and leaves a lasting impression!
