The Vire Zone: Virtual Reality Gaming

When it comes to wet weekends and less than barbecue-friendly summer afternoons it can be rather challenging to keep a family entertained when the great outdoors is off limits. As a child I was forever running around climbing trees, going on adventures and working up a healthy appetite for dinner; yet nowadays children are far more content to just pick up a phone or computer and sit quietly in the corner staring into the screen for hours on end. If only we could find a way to combine the two activities – adventure and technology – fortunately that’s precisely what The Vire Zone has in store!

The Vire Zone: Virtual Reality Gaming

Having recently opened the doors to its new venue in Temple Street, Aylesbury, Vire is a haven for ages 6yrs+ with a whole host of virtual reality experiences, exciting escape room challenges and foam dart battle zones where you can save the world, escape from the enemy and undertake in adventure with groups of friends, as an entire family, in a couple, by yourself or with your work colleagues.

After discovering this thrilling entertainment hotspot we spent an afternoon working our way through precarious clues against the clock in the escape room before battling ogres and dragons in a virtual reality fantasy land and left feeling both mentally and physically fit.

We Worked As A Team In The Townhouse Escape Room

A first for us both, the escape room provided a series of sixteen puzzles and clues to overcome in order to work our way out of a old fashioned town house before the time was up as rebels approached. Working together to crack the codes it highlighted our strengths as a couple whilst challenging us to think individually outside of the box, investigate clues and get our thinking caps on pronto – something we wouldn’t usually face in everyday life which proved to be delightfully challenging with a great sense of achievement upon completion.

We Raced Against The Clock To Crack Clues

The escape rooms are changed seasonally in order to keep challenges new and exciting, allowing thrill seekers the chance to return time and time again whilst keeping their name on the leaderboard. With over twenty virtual reality games to choose from there’s also enough gaming opportunities to see my children into their teens and it’s a great way to burn calories and keep active at the same time.

We Worked Up A Sweat Battling Ogres In The VR Arena

How wonderful it is to see something local that’s exciting and futuristic for all ages to enjoy under one roof. The cosy cafe is the perfect place to catch up with friends and grab a coffee whilst the children burn off some energy and engage in problem solving and team building skills. Ideal for birthday parties and corporate events alike, gamers can celebrate their success with freshly baked pizzas, sandwiches and delicious milkshakes.

A Fantastic Way To Challenge The Mind & Body Whilst Team Building

The venue is capable of holding up to fifty people at the time and happily accept walk-in’s, but if you want to guarantee a spot then it’s best to book in advance when times are busy. With plans underway to launch a summer outside escape room by hiding clues around the town, it seems that the sky is the limit for this innovative addition to Aylesbury Old Town.
