Can you tell that orange is my favourite colour yet? Orange hair, orange nails, orange clothing and a somewhat orange (natural) tan thanks to my Irish/Hungarian heritage.
With summertime in full swing and temperatures soaring to a sizzling 30 degrees this week I thought I’d share with you some of my favourite citrus inspired styles from FemmeLuxe Finery this week… What a treat!
In my opinion the category of slinky dresses needs to have an entire wardrobe section to itself because every girl deserves to look and feel a million dollars; there’s something about a sassy slinky dress that just makes me feel so Hollywood!
I love how elegant and glamourous this one-shoulder number is, in a gorgeous bronzed orange tone. With a sweeping side tie and mini dress cut it is sure to stand out and turn heads no matter how large the crowd.
Bodycon dresses are a weakness of mine – providing I’m not having a bloated day from IBS of course, grr! When the nights are hot and clammy you just need a cute little bodycon to slip into for maximum comfort and to cool down the limbs when dancing!
This dress is delightfully tiny, yet keeps me covered in all of the right places, exposing the back and shoulders for optimal coolness as I find that I easily overhead even when wearing straps and chokers. The side tie detail helps to subtly conceal a bloated belly after dinner and the asymmetrical hemline makes a playful feature of the thighs whilst elongating the legs – oh, and it’s a mouthwatering shade of bright orange!
Mini dresses are an absolute must-have for summer and this mesh beauty is quite possibly my most favourite dress ever. Basically a swimsuit with a built-in cover-up mesh, I’m getting total Ibiza vibes in this neon orange number and love how peek-a-boo playful the partially see-through high-leg sides are.
Again the strapless, mini dress features work amazingly well for me in this heat and the bold colour serves to make me look and feel even more tanned than I am – it’s a win win situation!
Finishing up with something a little less bright, for those of you who haven’t yet been brave enough to embrace orange, I spotted this gorgeous black PU skirt which works wonders with my orange hair and nails as an accent colour. I love the ruch effect to the back of the skirt which creates a perfectly peach posterior and the front bow detail synches in the waist to create the most killer curves!
I first started wearing mini skirts at the age of eighteen and it literally transformed my life – I realises that body confidence doesn’t always grow of it’s own accord, sometimes you need to nurture it by embracing your curves and trying something daring to understand that people will positively compliment rather than criticise your choice. It’s all about making a leap of faith and I promise you’ll never look back.
I love having fun with fashion and I’m sure you’ll agree that this weeks citrus edit has been an absolute ray of sunshine perfect for summer positivity.
My words of wisdom for this week are – be bold, be daring and have fun, you only live once so make the most of this wonderful journey and experiment with style.
