With summer upon us I have a little confession to make – wearing heels absolutely kills my feet! Yes it’s cute, sassy and sexy to strut around en-point and heels make my legs look so much longer and slender when I’ve got an extra few inches underfoot. Yet after just an hour of strutting the balls of my feet burn like hell and I crave the sweet surrender of some pretty fabulous flats; cue my cute summer flats edit with my latest haul from my favourite online retailer FemmeLuxe Finery!
FemmeLuxe have the cutest playsuits ever! This gorgeous pink, orange and black print totally makes me think of Versace and I love how soft and silky the fabric is against my skin – it’s just so luxurious.
Playsuits are incredibly comfortable to rock around in and can be dressed up or down with heels or flats to suit every occasion which is ideal for this edit. With a block colour or metallic clutch to accessorise this outfit is an absolute head-turner.
I love a good two-piece set and this mustard beauty is just something else! The ribbed fabric is perfect for hiding any lumps and bumps and with a capped sleeve and elasticated waistband you can literally be a ninja in this all night because it feels like a second skin.
I’m totally channeling Kill Bill Uma Thurman vibes here and feeling nostalgic over the 70s with these super cute flared bottoms. Wearing this combo with flats works pretty well too and can take you from daytime to evening wear with a quick change of accessories.
Can we just take a second to appreciate what a fine selection of skirts FemmeLuxe always have! I’m blown away by the choice and quirkiness and just had to get myself this gorgeous snake print number to celebrate my new flame-inspired hair colour.
Hugging curves like a BFF, the zip back makes this skirt super easy to slink into and the PU material gives it that extra touch of shiny, wet-look va-va-voom – it basically made me want to back comb my hair and do a catwalk the second that I put it on. The beauty of a high-waisted skirt? It tucks in any wobbly bits and elongates the legs even when you wear flats!
Finally I couldn’t resist this super cute dusky pink dress. Bodycon dresses look insane with heels when you’re fully glammed up for a night out; but equally dressed down in an office or out to a business lunch with flats it has this sexy sophistication that steals the show.
I adore this one shoulder black-panelled design which brings a modern chicness to such a very sweet piece. I’m also finding that pinks works really well against red hair without bringing out the Barbie doll vibes which I love as this dress certainly screams wifey-for-lifey!
Having changed my hair this week from blonde to red I wanted to find a selection of bright and bold outfits that were both pretty and practical to update my wardrobe. Here I’ve experimented with pattern, print and colour and love how well these outfits work.
Seeing as I live in trainers and sensible shoes 24/7 I wanted to prove that you don’t always have to wear a big heel to look and feel your best on a night out – it’s a marathon baby, not a sprint!
