It’s been one week since my successful breast reduction surgery in Turkey, and I am now back home in the UK to rest up and recover. Nutrition is an often overlooked, but critical component of post-surgery recovery, or times when the body undergoes significant stress, where adequate nourishment is essential for healing and rebuilding cells.
Whether you’re looking for a summer health kick, or to heal from a physical event or illness, nutrition is key. Let’s take a look at why…

Energy And Strength
- Fuel for healing: Surgery, and illness, depletes your body’s energy reserves. Proper nutrition replenishes these stores, providing the energy needed for tissue repair and recovery.
- Muscle maintenance: Adequate protein intake helps to prevent muscle breakdown, which is also common during immobilisation post-surgery.
Wound Healing
- Building blocks: Nutrients like protein, vitamin C, and zinc are essential for collagen production, a key component of healthy skin and tissue repair in everyday life.
- Infection prevention: A well-nourished body is better equipped to fight off infections, which can be a significant risk post-surgery or when suffering from an injury or illness.

Immune System Boost
- Disease fighter: Our immune system works overtime to combat infection and heal wounds. Adequate nutrition strengthens the immune response.
- Reduced complications: A strong immune system helps to lower the risk of post-surgery complications, illness and diseases.
Digestive Health
- Regularity: Many surgeries involve taking medications that can cause constipation. Consuming fibre-rich foods daily helps to promote healthy digestion at any stage of life.
- Nutrient absorption: Proper digestion is crucial for absorbing essential nutrients from the food that we eat.

Overall Recovery
- Faster healing: Adequate nutrition can accelerate the healing process, reducing recovery time.
- Improved quality of life: Good nutrition contributes to overall well-being, enhancing your mood and energy levels during everyday life as well as ill-health or thoughout a surgical recovery and healing.
PRESS 3 Day Nutrition Reset
Seeing as I have to rest up at home for the next few weeks, and am not allowed to train at the gym until I am fully healed, I set out to find a nutritious meal prep service to boost my health and assist in my medical recovery, which is how I came across Press. I ordered the Press Healthfoods 3-Day Nutrition Reset Package which is designed to cleanse the body, improve digestion and jumpstart a weight loss journey.

What’s Inside The Box?
Their 3-day meal plan is designed to get you back to your best, containing all of the nutrients that you need within juice, soups, and plant-based meals from breakfast all the way up to bed time for three full days. Each day of the plan is programmed to 1217 calories, over 50g protein and is 100% natural with no need to count calories or raid the fridge at ungodly hours.
My box provided all of my meals and snacks for three full days, giving me a quick reset to break any bad habits and kickstart weight loss sustainably now that I’m not training at the gym everyday, nor being very active as I rest up from surgery. My chilled food box came delivered on the day of my choosing so that I could unpack it straight into my fridge to ensure maximum freshness and convenience.

What Does Each Day Of The Plan Consist Of?
The recommended plan timings fit perfectly into my day and shouldn’t require any additional food intake other than water, but if you’re struggling to stay on track you can have your own fruit and nuts as snacks to supplement the plan, which I haven’t found necessary.
-8am I have a Cold-Pressed Juice: Daily Sweet Greens is their ultimate green juice, which is made from 7 different fruits and vegetables, with beta-carotene, vitamins and minerals which tastes so refreshing.
-9am I have a Natural Breakfast: This allows me to start my day with a selection of nutritious low-sugar breakfast pots packed with gut-supporting fibre and essential vitamins and minerals.
-10am Ginger Shot: Naturally energising, it’s a perfect caffeine-free kick to combat a morning or afternoon energy slump, with 15g of fresh ginger root in every shot.

-11am Healthy Snacks: I can choose from a selection of legume thins and dark chocolate covered almonds to remain energised throughout my day.
-1pm Protein Soup: Made with a range of grains and legumes, these delicious soups are high in protein and balance energy levels after lunch.
-4pm Healthy Snacks: Again I can choose from a selection of legume thins and dark chocolate covered almonds to keep me on track.
-7pm Plant-Based Meal: Their dinners are delicious as well as healthy, with 100% clean label recipes to choose from. Each mouth-watering meal is super convenient and high in protein.

This calorie controlled program features all nutritionally rich plant-based foods, drinks and snacks allowing you to instantly experience a sustainable calorie deficit which naturally kickstarts weight loss. By the end of my program I felt so refreshed, rejuvenated and much lighter; it reduced my bloating, fatigue and the lethargic feeling of being stagnant when remaining indoors as an otherwise everyday gym-lover. It’s made recovering from surgery so much easier, removing the need to go to the supermarket for a food shop, think up or cook meals, and if you eat directly from the packaging there’s no washing-up either!
Expertly crafted by nutritionists, the plan ensures that your energy levels remain balanced throughout the day, and as your nutrient intake is kept consistently high, I didn’t experience any food cravings or feel the need to add additional snacks.
The 3-Day Nutrition Reset is a fantastic starting point for a health kick, helping you to jumpstart your health goals, but it’s down to you to maintain those healthy habits going forward. As a plant-based bodybuilder, and mum of two, I understand the importance of making long-term sustainable changes to nurture a healthy diet and active lifestyle.

Rather than going on fad diets, this is a safe and effective way to thoroughly cleanse your body and improve your health. It has really helped me to super charge my body after having surgery, to get my healing and recovery off to the very best start whilst resting up and sleeping more than usual.
In addition to following this plan, it’s important to drink plenty of water each day to remain optimally hydrated. Try to get plenty of rest and high quality sleep to allow the body to detoxify efficiently during the cleanse, and maintain healthy consumption of fresh fruit and vegetables to optimise your results as you step out of the plan on day four.

We all experience hurdles on our health journey, and can do with a helping hand from time to time; whether that’s over-eating on an all-inclusive summer holiday, getting over a stomach bug, a menstrual cycle binge or wanting to switch your daily routine and get a little fitter and slimmer for summer or a special occasion that approaches. A nutrition reset is just the ticket to a healthier, happier gut that glows from the inside out.
I love how instant and delicious all of my meals in my reset were, and where I was previously used to eating just three large meals each day – breakfast, lunch and dinner – I’m now in a wonderful routine of reducing my portion sizes, consciously pacing them closer together throughout my day with healthy snacks scattered between mealtimes to maintain my energy levels, and I feel so much better for it.

Much like picking up a meal deal when you’re rushing between meetings at lunch time, only far healthier and more rewarding, my breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks were all at my fingertips ready to go each day which saved me so much time and allowed me to try new and exciting dishes.
Whilst I’ve throughly enjoyed every meal that I had over these past few days, my personal favourites were the Magic Mango Chia Bowl, Chipotle Tomato Broth With Red Lentils & Butternut Squash, Spring Greens Risotto, Olive & Thyme Legume Thins and Dark Chocolate Dipped Almonds – just writing them down makes my mouth water.
