When it comes to special occasions my first port of call is always Love Layla, because let’s face it, nothing makes an event quite so memorable than a generous dose of adult humour and banter.
With Mother’s Day upon us I took a cheeky little flick over their 4 cards for £10.00 mix and match range and picked up some absolutely legendary cards to keep me well stocked – what a bargain!
I literally find their online store just as fun and addictive as scrolling memes whilst getting down to business in the bathroom and find myself laughing out loud as each of my favourite cards gets trumped by the next.
Spoilt for hilariously-inappropriate choice, I picked up four of my favourite Mother’s Day cards this week which read: “I’m sorry I destroyed your pelvic floor” “Can’t believe we’re celebrating the fact that you sh*gged dad” “I’m sorry I came into the world ar*e first” and “Here’s a Mother’s Day card as an apology for all the years I was a cu*t!”
Not only are the cards absolutely hilariously written, but they’re also so cute and pretty that they can easily blend in with all of the traditional and safe greetings cards, making them a subtle surprise for aunt Doris who decides to come and have a read with her cup of tea.
With a mix and match on all cards I literally stock up for every event on my calendar every few months to make the most of the discount whilst smugly knowing that my card will always be the most memorable conversation piece at every party.
My favourite Mother’s Day card this year has to be“Can’t believe we’re celebrating the fact that you sh*gged dad” which features colourful vases of pretty flowers on the cover and a playful pink text that Mum can read when she adjusts her glasses and says “Ohh how lovely” before the words sink in and we all erupt into fits of laughter.
In such tough and testing times that we’ve been through these past few years following Covid and world conflict we could all do with a little comedy and light relief to remind us to live, love and smile all the more and these cards never fail to deliver.
