It seems that everybody is jumping on the cute pet viral bandwagon to spread their aim or message to the masses. Many incredible causes are sadly overlooked simply because their social media profile isn’t entertaining or appealing to the public. Which is why #THEPUSSYCATRIOT have united adorable cats across the world to raise awareness of cyber censorship. My black bombay Tobias and I are very much in support of this movement, and here he is proudly posing in their rather fetching bandana.

The Pussy Cat Riot says: “Sadly, Internet censorship is rife in many countries. Consequently hundreds of millions of people worldwide are denied their right to knowledge by governmental controls on sites such as YouTube and Facebook and it is imperative we recognise and challenge the powers that restrict not only the public’s access to the simple joy of funny cat content, but to information as a whole. Freedom is knowledge. Knowledge is power. Cats know everything.”

#ThePussycatRiot is a new protest movement to unite the cats of the world and their owners in opposition to cyber censorship. They aim to raise awareness of the oppressive regimes preventing people from freely enjoying the boundless wealth of mankind’s innovation and creativity. And they do this with the help of our beloved furry friends. Every revolution begins with a spark and this one has whiskers and a little pink tongue. But you don’t need to be a pet owner to join the movement and help populate the internet with images and videos of cats symbolising the stand against cyber censorship and those who employ it, as sharing and reposting can make a world of difference.
