Forever Living Aloe Scrub

I don’t tend to use facial scrubs as I have combination skin of dry cheeks and an oily nose, so I find the abrasive beads and lumps irritate and aggravate my face leaving it feeling sore and worse off. I generally clean my face with a makeup wipe before bed each night and rinse it with warm water in the shower, so it’s safe to say my cleansing routine is somewhat lacking. The Aloe Scrub claims to be gentle enough to use every day, yet strong enough to clear pores of debris and dirt whilst protecting the skin from the drying and damaging effects of synthetic cleansers, ahem, my makeup wipes! Oh dear. Its natural jojoba beads act as an abrasive scrub, exfoliating the skin whilst reducing blocked pores and allowing new cells to come to the surface leaving the skin radiant and fresh. It sure sounds impressive but we shall see what happens with a skin test, to the bathroom I go!

The soothing gel isn’t harsh like most facial scrubs, it isn’t gritty and doesn’t irritate the skin like I was expecting it to as I’m used to a sandpaper like texture from regular brands of scrub. Instead it’s surprisingly cool and refreshing, it smells clean and natural like a health spa and rubs into the face literally disappearing like a moisturiser. A fine residue is all that is left on the skin like cream that has dried on the lid of its pot; and after rinsing it off with warm water my skin now feels so soft, plump and revitalised. There isn’t any grease or oiliness, nor dryness or red tender skin; just a soft, clean fresh peachy face that looks and feels as gorgeous as it smells.
