Every time I see red tartan I instantly think of picnic blankets, Scottish shortbread and warming up next to a log fire and kicking off my wellies. The print is so a bold and eye-catching and has wonderfully stood the test of time as a traditional style staple. This shirt is a size UK8 and is delightfully soft and cosy. In a loose fit this boyfriend cut features full length button-cuffed sleeves, a complete button-up front with collar and an extended-length scooped hem. I love how this shirt can be worn done up as a dress with heels and a waist belt for a spot of evening glamour, or open oven a vest with a pair of black leggings, ankle boots and a statement watch for smart-casual daywear.
Longer tops really help to elongate the torso and draw the eye line downwards to the legs whilst concealing the stomach area and any lumps and bumps. I always love how much slimmer my legs look when I’m wearing a long top as it distracts from the hips and thighs which are typically the widest part of the body. Red is a colour that I am gradually embracing into my wardrobe and looks sensational on a cold, grey afternoon.
