There’s nothing quite like being dried up and crinkled out before sucking the dirt and dead skin from the pores to leave you feeling reborn, and I always look and feel so much better for using a face mask. I’ve been a fan of natural products for many years now so when I spotted this Frankincense and rose clay mask from AA Skincare containing ingredients such as Argan oil, almond oil, Shea butter, rose oil, rosehip seed, rosemary and Marula I was already fantasising over a well needed pamper session before I hit the checkout.
This clay mask is naturally hydrating and nourishing for the skin helping to reduce dryness whilst fighting the signs of ageing. With deep cleansing qualities and intense nourishment it claims to leave the face soft, supple and hydrated thanks to the rich ingredients and essential oils formulated to rejuvenate, hydrate, moisturise and tone the face. It’s recommended that you wet your face before applying the mask so I’ve splashed mine with warm water from the sink and dip a clean finger into the clay to smooth it directly onto my face. The clay is thick and cool with a pale green-grey colour which sticks to the face in a wet paste and can be built up in layers or smoothed evenly. I’ve covered my entire face with a little extra around my nose, forehead and mouth as these are my problem areas for spots and open pores.
Within 5-10 minutes the mask absorbs and disappears into the face leaving behind a powdery, tight covering that shrinks and darkens into every crack, line and crease and makes me look ancient but it’s fascinating to see where my problem areas lie as they are conveniently highlighted. It’s very quick and easy to rinse off with warm water and leaves behind such fresh and grease free matte skin that is luxuriously soft and smooth to the touch. A further splash of cold water to my face helps to close the pores, preventing them from clogging as my treatment is complete. This beautiful mask is the perfect complexion fix, suitable for all skin types as it doesn’t agitate my sensitive skin and can also be used on the neck. Another welcome AA Skincare addition to my beauty bag.
