My daughter Millie adores reading almost as much as she adores animals as she has aspires to become a vet when she’s finally a grown up. So when she spotted the charming tale of Captain Pug her puppy-dog eyes went into overdrive to take a copy home with her!

Delightfully illustrated with wide spacing and bold text this page-turning short tale is ideal for little readers who love animals and adventure and I couldn’t get Millie to put it down even at bedtime.
A dog after my own heart perhaps, Pug has a delectably sweet-tooth preferring jam tarts for breakfast and raiding picnic baskets at the boating lake with hilariously frightful consequences. This tale is heart-warmingly relatable, laugh-out-loud funny and fun for all ages as I enjoyed a good chuckle or two along the way whilst listening to and reading for my children. Millie says: “Captain Pug is so lovely! He looks really funny in his sailor costume just like when we dress up my chihuahua Joey, he pulls the same face as Pug does! I really enjoyed reading it and I wished that I could read more after it was finished; then I saw there’s going to be another story book where he becomes a cowboy next year and I’ve already put it on my calendar for Mummy to get it for me if I’m good!”
