I’m always looking for cheerful and interesting ways to entertain my two children, engaging their creative flair and imagination whilst keeping them away from the dreaded television. So when my daughter invited her friends over from school for a sleepover I had to think of something extra special to keep them crafting, which is when I discovered Buytshirtsonline.
Trying to please little boys and girls of various ages can be tricky at the best of times, yet the choice of exciting characters and images online meant that I could order Disney Princesses along with a Spiderman to keep everybody smiling. I then selected various plain white cotton t-shirt sizes for each sleepover attendee and my parcel arrived the following morning ready for the fun to begin.
I laid the t-shirts, pens and image transfers out on the kitchen table for my flock of fascinated little faces and they wasted absolutely no time in getting started. When each child had chosen their image and shirt they carefully cut it out leaving a 5mm margin around the edge as I heated my iron and a pillowcase on the kitchen side for a perfectly flat surface, as using an ironing board can cause rippling. I then placed each transfer image face down onto the front of each t-shirt and ironed the reverse checked side of the transfer paper moving the iron in a circular motion to distribute the heat evenly and ensuring I caught all of the edges. After a minute or so of ironing I placed each t-shirt on the side to cool first before carefully peeling back the paper so that the children could carrying on decorating them with their pens.
It kept them all chattering, giggling and crafting this afternoon and the t-shirts look adorable. Here my daughter Millie has made a princess Aurora t-shirt with “Millie” handwritten along with some dots and fireworks, and my son Gabriele has a Spiderman t-shirt with “Gabrieleman” handwritten next to a spider web. What an original and fantastic activity it was for the children to do, and a wonderful reminder of my daughters friends having got together, something I’ll certainly do again for her birthday. The t-shirts can be washed at 30 degrees in the washing machine providing they are turned inside out first, but shouldn’t be ironed or tumble dried at all. Buytshirtsonline have a fantastic printing range here suitable for all ages!
