Dubsmash Is Highly Addictive

So I’ve discovered the most hilariously addictive app that I’ve ever used and I’m now dabbling in dubbing on a daily basis. Dubsmash is taking the world by storm with over 50million users and counting which is growing by the second, so I couldn’t resist finding out what it was all about.

The Dubsmash app is free to download via itunes, which I use on my iPhone6, and the idea behind it is to take various soundboards, film clips and voiceovers and record your own video to accompany it and share with your friends. There’s a whole range of categories to choose from, from television adverts to horror, love, cartoons, greetings, animals, food, pick up lines, insults, hangovers, sports and millions more, as people upload new soundboards each day so it would literally take a lifetime to get through them all.

Once you’ve found a sound clip you like you hit the start button to begin recording and it captures just the video you create, as the audio is from the clip. As most of the clips are quite emotive in their expression, from angry or shocked, to moody and hysterical it works best to be really animated with your features, as I started off rather still and reserved, but after a few clips I was throwing my hands in the air, pulling out bananas and getting my chihuahua involved too.

Once you’ve recorded your video clip, which is around several seconds at a time, you can then share it with your friends, family or the whole world as it can be saved to your camera roll and shared to social media. Dubsmash has me in hysterics and captures such well known and wonderful clips that we can all be a part of. What’s your favourite dub?
