Forever Living are a natural aloe vera based company, growing and producing natural aloe vera based skincare and products since 1978.
Historically used to soothe minor skin irritations, aloe vera gelly works by lubricating sensitive skin tissue safely, moisturising and conditioning the skin as it goes. The thick translucent gel contains humectants and moisturisers readily absorbed by the skin to soothe without staining, and is suitable for people with eczema and psoriasis. It is widely used in the cosmetic profession for soothing the skin after ultrasonic treatments and electrolysis. But how will it fare in a household bathroom cabinet? Let’s find out!
Having had my face lasered in the past for thread veins, aloe vera gelly was used across my cheeks and around my nose to soothe my irritated and sore skin after treatment and I found it very cooling and relaxing as it took the sharp bite and sting away after the laser. Fast forward a few years to today and I am using aloe vera gelly for the second time, this time to protect my legs after waxing. Having had my legs waxed a few days ago my skin is slightly irritated, tender and feeling a little dry.
Squeezing a blob of cool wet gelly onto my leg is pure bliss. It is incredibly soothing and immediately takes the heat out of the skin. The gelly is thick and wobbly like jelly, but breaks down into the skin incredibly easily creating a protective clear film on the skin which starts off feeling tacky before being absorbed within a matter of minutes. Like the gel used to perform an ultrasound scan in a maternity ward, the aloe gelly is extremely transferable, easily applied and instantly captures, soothes and contains the area in need. It has left my skin feeling beautifully calmed, replenished and protected whilst taking away the itch and irritation from waxing. It is a must have item for every skincare range and first aid box as it is the perfect natural remedy for skin complaints and soreness and has eased my legs a treat.
