Ozeri Green Earth Pan

I have loved cooking since I was a child, from back in the day when I’d heat cookies in my EasyBake lightbulb oven, it taught me patience and persistence, and nowadays my fire alarm keeps me under control in the kitchen. Being a vegetarian for 23yrs I love to experiment with food and part of the enjoyment of cooking comes from using high quality tools, because it’s not just what you cook but how you cook the food that creates the flavour. And Ozeri certainly know all about quality kitchenware.

This 20 cm Green Earth Frying Pan by Ozeri features a smooth ceramic non-stick coating from Germany which is 100% PTFE and PFOA free to create a superior non-stick performance. There’s nothing worse than having a thin, tinny pan that scratches easily, bends out of shape, catches and burns the food and is a nightmare to wash. But as soon as I picked this pan up I could immediately feel the quality. With a nice weight to it, the pan is sturdy, beautifully made and comfortable to hold with its silicone handle.

The eco-friendly ceramic coating emits no harmful fumes, is induction stove safe and easy to clean as the food literally slides off of it as soon as it touches water, it’s also made from heavy-gauge pure aluminium making it highly durable and more scratch resistant than standard pans. The elevated textured surface of the pan creates tiny air pockets to distribute heat evenly beneath the food whilst cooking, which prevents it from sticking and makes it even easier to plate up, also allowing you to prepare food with as little as half the amount of oil you’d normally need.

As with any pan, it’s important to show kitchen equipment respect and care to ensure that it will serve you well for many years to come. As with all of my kitchen pans I never use a metal fork or knife to tend to the food that I am frying, as a plastic spatula or wooden spoon for stirring is far kinder to the surface of the pan. Equally when cleaning the pan I first rinse it off with warm soapy water to remove any food remnants and use a sheet of kitchen towel to remove any grease or oil before drying with a tea towel. I would never use a metal scourer on any surface of a pan as you will risk damaging the non-stick surface, which is partially common sense and equally good housekeeping. As I don’t have a dishwasher this isn’t an issue for me to damage pans, but if in doubt always wash delicate items on the top rack of the washer.

The Green Earth Pan by Ozeri is an absolute joy to cook with and it gave me so much more freedom to cook because my food didn’t stick, burn or dry out, which in turn meant that I didn’t panic or get flustered over timings and the food tasted beautiful as it was cooked to perfection. A must have pan for every foodies kitchen!
