Spooky Eyes Cool Blue Big Eyes Contact Lenses

I last wore prescription contact lenses several years ago before having my short vision corrected by laser eye surgery. And although I now have perfect 20/20 vision I’m incredibly excited to try these Spooky Eyes cool blue lenses from a fashion perspective, as providing your eyes are in good health anybody can wear coloured contacts, not just those looking to correct their vision. I’m a huge fan of natural beauty and making the most of your facial features, as I feel the brighter your eyes are the less effort you have to make with the rest of your hair and makeup because the eyes are the window to the soul. I already have blue eyes so I know that this shade will work well with my natural hair colour and skintone, and I chose this bright blue to enhance what I already have, likewise I can experiment with brown or green lenses too.

Spooky Eyes Cool Blue Big Eyes Contact Lenses

Here I am wearing a pair of Cool Blue Big Eyes Contact Lenses and they are absolutely dazzling to look at, the detail is just beautiful with a bright stunning blue iris and a deep navy outer ring with matching etching creating definition and contrast between the two shades and really making the eyes stand out. The lenses have a high shimmer finish making them sparkle in the light, with a subtle blending of colours for a very classical look. I love how perfect and precise they make my eyes look, and it really highlights and lifts the white of my eyes too, whilst being subtle enough to not appear as fake. They come in two individually sealed liquid pods which you simply peel back the foil top to reveal the floating lenses in an eye care solution.

To insert the lenses you should first wash your hands to ensure they are clean, then dip your index finger into the liquid and touching the lens which will stick to the skin. You want the lens to sit upwards on the pad of your index finger like a bowl rather than downwards like a helmet, as you will place it directly into the eye so it must follow the same shape. As contact lenses can turn inside out you should always check to make sure the coloured side is facing outwards before attempting to insert them into the eye.

When I first used contact lenses I found them tricky to use as I was a little clumsy and nervous which made me blink a lot, but like anything, the more that you do it the easier it becomes, and now I have no problem at all. The easiest way to insert lenses is to take the lens facing upwards on the pad of your index finger, and with your other free hand pull your lower lash line downwards to increase the visible area of the eye. If you find that you blink a lot you can look upwards whilst inserting the lens, which I find helps to stop me from blinking so much, and so long as you touch the lens onto the surface of the eye at any point it will naturally slide into place and find the centre of the eye after you blink.

As I’m comfortable with using lenses now I’m happy to pull my eye downwards and look straight ahead, placing the lens directly onto the centre of my eye. These lenses are beautifully made, feeling soft and smooth as they sit effortlessly on the eye with no weight or friction. They don’t stick or irritate like some lenses can, and should you find them becoming dry or if you get dust or dirt in your eye whilst using them you can cleanse with an eye wash, the same liquid that the lenses come in. The lenses can be worn all day, remembering to remove them at night or if they start to irritate. I had these lenses in for eight hours today and have had no problem with them at all. To remove the lens simply pull the lash line downward, place your finger on the lens and lightly drag it down to the water line of the eye so that you can use two fingers together to pinch it out gently. The lens will fold inwards as you lift it out, and when you put it back into the liquid it will return to shape. Always store the lenses in their liquid to prevent them from drying out and going hard, as once opened they have a life span of three whole months before they need to be discarded.

Spooky Eyes have a massive collection of amazing colours and funky designs to choose from. I adore the natural look as a way to brighten up my face without needing copious amounts of makeup, perfect for a night out or special occasion. Contact lenses are also great with fancy dress too, from pretty cats eyes to hazard signs or black out pupils, there is literally every colour of the rainbow! Priced at $27.99 from Spooky Eyes they’re great value for money with exceptional comfort and quality and transform a look into flawless in just seconds.
