When it comes to fashion I can’t resist a good shopping spree and as a result I’m always on the lookout for on-trend, good quality garments at reasonable prices. Yet online shopping is notorious for being hit and miss when it comes to clothing and sometimes what you see advertised online isn’t quite what you receive and so I’m always cautious to check for customer reviews and recommendations before committing to a large purchase from a brand I haven’t experienced before. Fortunately my latest fashion haul from Femme Luxe Finery ticked all of my boxes and then some!
I wanted to update my wardrobe with a few key statement pieces to see me through a variety of events this summer from nights out and late lunches with friends to office and casual wear; so I’ve injected bold colours, prints and typography into this haul with four of my favourite items – a jumpsuit, trousers, t-shirt and tracksuit which cost just under £100.00 in total but look and feel far more expensive.
This beautiful multi-stripe belted jumpsuit immediately caught my eye as I’ve been seeing it literally everywhere on social media within a variety of colours and width of stripes. Available in black, multi stripe or red and blue stripes I love how bright and instantly uplifting it is and it’s quite a head turner on a night out. Here I’m wearing it without a bra or tape and it holds perfectly in place, is true to size and and fits like a second skin without being overly hot or restrictive. The coordinating tie belt can be positioned in the middle of the playsuit to disguise shapely midriffs or slightly to the side for chic style and goes perfectly with literally every colour heel that I own, matching simply to a plain clutch – there are so many colour combinations to choose from!
Next up I couldn’t resist these gorgeous paper bag slim fit trousers in an iconic houndstooth print for the office. I’ve dressed these up with a simple black crop for more of an evening look which I would style with a boyfriend-jacket or keep it more office friendly during the day with a simple white blouse or fitted black vest. I have rather wide hips and find some tailored trousers dig into my hips causing muffin-top and are baggy on the thighs but due to this elasticated ruffle-top gathering they fit me perfectly and have delicate slim fit ankles which are incredibly flattering with any size heel.
All too often people think that office wear has to be plain and boring but embracing a monochrome print such as this houndstooth is a subtly stylish staple that can see you through all year. An absolute bargain at just a snip of the price of the high street, incredibly well made, comfortable and wearable.
I have a bit of a love hate relationship with tracksuits as I can never seem to find a flattering pair of bottoms with a comfortable top. I have rather long legs which either cause my ankles to show or crotch to sit too low, and with a large bust I usually have to decide between small and fitted which is tight on my chest and arms or slightly larger but baggy and unflattering; however this tracksuit is spot-on for sizing and delivers a slim fit style without being restrictive.
Khaki is one of my all time favourite shades and will never go out of fashion and the white vertical side stripes are so hot this season. Not only does it look amazing with a tan but helps to draw the eyeline upwards and elongate the body, and with the elasticated bottoms finishing at bellybutton height with a slightly cropped hoody it beautifully hides any lumps and bumps whilst accentuating the curves of the body. Bye-bye baggy trackies!
Finally I finished up my fashion haul with this adorable Vogue print t-shirt in black as it’s something that just works great with a variety of bottoms and footwear. Here I’ve teamed my top with some navy lace shorts and converse for daytime casual – with a backpack and cap it screams fashion-blogger. Throw on a pair of ripped skinny jeans and heels for for lunch with the girls or a PVC black miniskirt and Louboutins for a charming candlelit dinner in the city.
Vogue is the ultimate style statement and this bold white text cheerfully breaks up an otherwise simple and everyday easy outfit. Being slightly cropped with short sleeves and a crew neck it’s incredibly flattering, feminine and versatile to dress up or down. All in all I’ve become quite the fan of Femme Luxe Finery and look forward to updating my winter wardrobe in due course!
