Reset & Refresh: How We Can All Benefit From A Juice Cleanse

It’s safe to say that life can be pretty hectic at the best of times, and between hitting the gym and the relentless responsibility of parenthood and work, I can sometimes feels like I’m running on a battery that’s stuck at 4%.

We focus so much on fuelling our body for gains and creating nourishing meals for our loved ones, yet often forget to give our internal systems a proper well needed service. That’s where the world of juice cleansing comes in. Now, I know what you’re thinking, juice cleanses will cut muscle mass, but stick with me here, because it’s actually been a total game-changer for my wellness routine and gym gains alike.

What Is A Juice Cleanse?

We can think of a juice cleanse as a natural reset button for our digestive system. Essentially, we replace our solid meals for a short period of time, usually 3 to 5 days, with cold-pressed, nutrient-dense fruit and vegetable juices instead.

It’s not about starving yourself, but flooding your bloodstream with a massive dose of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants whilst providing the body with the relief of not having to work overtime to break down heavy solids and poorly chewed foods.

The majority of the energy that our body uses each day goes toward digestion. When we switch to juice, we give your gut a well-deserved holiday. This digestive rest allows our body to redirect that energy toward repair, cellular detox and reducing inflammation instead.
