Some Benefits Of Being Vegan:

  • Improved health: Vegan diets are often associated with lower rates of heart disease, cancer, and type 2 diabetes.
  • Reduced environmental impact: Vegan diets have a much smaller environmental impact than omnivorous diets.
  • Animal welfare: Veganism is a great way to reduce animal suffering.

Tips For Transitioning To A Vegan Lifestyle:

  1. Start slowly. Don’t try to go vegan overnight. You can start by cutting out one animal product at a time, or by making vegan choices for one meal each day and progress gradually from there. This will give you time to adjust to your new diet and make sure that you’re getting all of the nutrients that you need – I personally take a one-a-day vegan multivitamin to ensure that I always have optimum health and nutrition.
  2. Find your support network. There are many online and in-person communities of vegans who can offer you plenty of support and advice. Joining a vegan group or following vegan influencers on social media can help you to stay motivated and learn new recipes. tips and tricks.
  3. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. If you’re not sure how to cook a vegan meal or don’t know where to find vegan-friendly restaurants please don’t be afraid to ask for help from your vegan friends, family, or online communities. Online search engines are a great tool for locating vegan-friendly businesses as well as youtube tutorials and blogs which are packed full of information and instructions.
  4. Do your research. There are a lot of resources available to help you learn about vegan nutrition. You might like to check out plant-based websites such as the Vegan Society and Forks Over Knives.

Points To Consider As A Vegan:

  • Read your food labels carefully! Many processed foods contain hidden animal ingredients such as gelatin, whey, or casein which aren’t always expected in a recipe or obvious, so always check out the ingredients list on the back of the packaging.
  • Stock your kitchen with vegan staples. Beans, lentils, tofu, tempeh, nuts, seeds, whole grains, fruits and vegetables are perfect for your store cupboards so that you always have something suitable to throw into a pan with your veggies.
  • Get creative with your cooking. There are endless possibilities when it comes to vegan cuisine, it’s really a case of experimenting with different recipes and flavours to find what type that you prefer. I’ve sampled nearly every cuisine in the world to experience their plant-based dishes and menus and am definitely an organic and fresh fruit and vegetable lover rather than an alternative-meat or plant-based dairy alternative vegan.
  • Don’t be afraid to eat out. There are many vegan-friendly restaurants popping up all over the place. You can also find vegan options at most larger restaurants nowadays, but if like me you prefer vegetables over fake-meat then it’s usually best to stick to small or one-off restaurants and cafes who have the flexibly to add and remove ingredients from their menu to suit your needs.

With fur, leather and animal testing dominating the fashion and beauty industry, showing support for a vegan lifestyle through cruelty-free fashion is a considerate and non-invasive way to help to spread the word and encourage others. Whenever I spot somebody rocking vegan fashion I instantly smile and feel such a warm connection towards them because I instantly know that they’re kind souls!

iApparel have such a fantastic, funky range of fashion for all, with beautiful patterns, bright colours and fresh slogans to support veganism. I’ve added some cute and cool staple pieces of their to my wardrobe with shorts, leggings, briefs and an oversized t-shirt which read “vegan booty” and “anti dairy social club”. Their fit, function and comfort are second to none and make my workouts and casual wear all the more motivational and poignant.
