Aromantic Make Your Own Caramel Lip Balms

I adore all things beauty, from makeup and pretty little soaps, to lotions, potions and creams. I’m specifically drawn to natural ingredients and love how Aromantic is an organic beauty range from North-East Scotland creating gift packs so that you can make your own natural skin, hair and body care products at home and to your individual requirements, knowing exactly what goes into it.

Here I have a delightful Caramel Lip Balm gift set, as I suffer from dry and chapped lips throughout the year. Through the use of these natural fats and waxes, lips can be properly cared for and nourished without the need to constantly reapply the balm like other brands. The gift set contains a sheet of beeswax, organic shea butter, organic sweet almond oil, organic caramel aroma, nine aluminium containers, a wooden spatula and labels.

Each ingredient has been carefully sourced and selected to create a natural and effective balm. The beeswax comes in thin sheets from Sweden which is the purest European honey and most protective on the skin, improving hydration and reducing moisture loss. The shea butter is a great source of natural fat from a womens cooperative in Ghana and is an intensive moisturiser with sun protecting qualities perfect for soothing rough and chapped lips. The sweet almond oil helps to leave skin soft, supple and smooth with a long surface time so that it can be absorbed by the skin slowly thus providing lasting results. It is also suitable for all skin types and very nourishing.

Making the natural balm is incredibly straight forward, takes just a few minutes and smells mouthwatering. My daughter Millie 6yrs and son Gabriel 2yrs wanted to help, so after I melted the ingredients in a bain-marie on the stove, Gabriele lined up the containers and Millie spooned in the liquid which set to a balm as it cooled. She then kindly wrote out the labels so that we can give them to the ladies in our family as gifts and keep a few pots for our own use. The balms will keep for a year and a half from todays date when we made them and are such a wonderful gift and activity to do together. The giftset costs just £16.00 and makes nine containers of natural balm, making them just £1.70 each, a great price for handmade organic produce.
