There’s not a lot of things that are nicer than rocking a summer dress on a gorgeous hot day, aside from Brad Pitt spoon feeding me ice cream and cherries butt naked of course, but let’s save that for another time shall we! I literally can’t help but smile when I wear a dress, and it’s a far cry from the days of being a child when I would cry and kick up a fuss over having to put on my Sunday Best. Now you can’t get me out of dresses as soon as the sun shines, so it’s important that they’re just as practical as they are pretty in order to fit in with day to day life.
This pretty midi length number from Atmosphere is a size UK8 and made from 100% cotton, keeping me nicely cool, covered and free to move. Although the fabric doesn’t stretch, because of the elasticated bust it clings beautifully in place, skimming over the hips, stomach and buttocks to cover the sins of succulent summer dining.
The tulip shaped dress finishes just below my knee and is a beautifully timeless teal colour with accents of orange, mint, yellow, purple and white that can easily be accessorised to nails and jewellery. It looks fabulous with a tan and would work equally well as a beach coverup without the fear of getting tan lines and strap marks. For casual daywear it’s the ideal dress to pop out for a spot of lunch in spangly sandals or rock up at a wedding with a pair of wedges and a diamond necklace. Priced at an amazing £5.00 from Atmosphere it’s my favourite summer staple.
