Dr Zak’s High Protein Powdered & Defatted Peanut Butter

It’s well know that protein is essential for muscle recovery and a healthy active lifestyle but as a vegan it can be difficult for me to hit my daily targets as I don’t eat meat, fish, egg, yogurt or cheese so instead I graze on beans, lentils, nuts and seeds but you can only eat so many in any one day. I built quite a peanut butter addiction last year when I literally ate it everyday with at least two bunches of bananas a week until I saw the ridiculous amounts of fat and sugar that it contained and it broke my heart to have to give it up; you see I have no off switch or moderation when it comes to my food cravings, it really has to be all or nothing with me. So finding a food that I love and then discovering it doesn’t love me back shattered my passion for peanut butter until I discovered this Dr Zak’s breakthrough at Muscle Food!

Dr Zak's High Protein Powdered & Defatted Peanut Butter

Dr Zak’s High Protein Powdered & Defatted Peanut Butter

With just three simple ingredients of peanut flour, a little sugar and a pinch of salt there is no question that Dr Zak’s new Powdered Peanut Butter is groundbreaking in providing a high protein kick whilst avoiding the regular nasties found in fillers, stabilisers, emulsifiers and artificial sweeteners from supermarket goods. Any mention of the word ‘fat’ gives me the instinctive reflex to hold onto my hips and lock my lips shut, but thanks to a cold press process this defatted peanut butter contains a phenomenal 80% less fat than conventional peanut butters, at just 1.3g of fat per serving of which 0.2g is saturated this is literally unheard of. And boasting 45g of high quality protein per 100g I think I’ve just reignited my love for PB!

The peanut butter is super quick and easy to make as you mix equal powder with water to create a smooth and creamy texture that is sensationally satisfying and doesn’t compromise on taste. I love how I can alter the texture to make it as thick and sticky or smooth and runny as I like, perfect for spreading onto bananas and adding to a rice pudding for a sweet treat or topped on a slice of toast for breakfast, swirled into a smoothie and dunked with rice cakes for a mid afternoon protein kick which I particularly enjoy. Dr Zak’s has a wide range of high protein and functional foods to support a healthy lifestyle in the most convenient way with everyday goods such as bread, bagels, pasta, egg whites and nut butters with a high protein kick so you don’t have to give up the things you lost most in life! My delicious 150g tub of peanut butter powder costs just £4.49 from Muscle Food and has a 6month shelf life once opened. *drool*
