When it comes to nibbles I have a food obsession with texture and love a good crunch. As a teen I liked crisps and popcorn yet as an adult I’ve come to appreciate a decent wholegrain, kettle chip and cracker with a glass of wine or three. So when I discovered the groundbreaking new cracker crisps by Jacobs I couldn’t wait to give them a go.
Cracker crisps pretty much do exactly what they say on the pack as they’re both crackers and crisps and dare I say it, a more adult and sophisticated snack. Being oven baked with no artificial colours, MSG or flavours a single 40g bag contains just 188kcal and is suitable for vegetarians. Here I have the Sea Salt & Balsamic Vinegar flavour and found them indulgently delicious.
The balsamic vinegar makes for a vivid and refined flavour compared to traditional salt and vinegar, and the crunchy dense texture of the cracker crisps is certainly more satisfying and filling than a pack of greasy thin crisps that are packed mostly with calories and air. By the end of my nibbling I still savoured the luxurious taste and texture of the Jacobs Cracker Crisps and I felt pleasantly satisfied and far healthier than the underwhelming guilt I always feel from eating crisps. I shall certainly be stocking my cupboard with the new collection when I do my weekly shop in preparation for my evening tipple and a good film in front of the fire. What flavours have you tried?
