Trespass Mel Womens Black Waterproof Jacket

When it comes to the great outdoors, there’s one part of your wardrobe that you simply can’t do without, and that’s a decent all weather jacket. Because on a hot day you merely worry about which sandals to wear with your sunglasses but on a cold day you’ve got to consider the temperature, movement, wind, rain and possibly snow and there’s nothing worse than being sweaty, damp and shivering in hard driving rain miles from home. Fortunately Trespass stock an amazingly fashionable range of outdoor clothing for which I’ve found my perfect jacket.

Although my main concern is to find something to keep me warm and dry, I dislike how bulky, boxy and unflattering waterproof clothing tends to be in general as I spend a lot of time outdoors and it isn’t always warm enough to break out a cardigan let alone a t-shirt on a day with a breeze. I love the cut of this jacket as it fits my torso beautifully and isn’t baggy or bulky at all. Waterproof to 3000mm with taped seams, it also keeps the wind out and is incredibly comfortable to wear and move around in. The jacket is coated with a Tres-tex membrane to specifically repel moisture, keeping all layers that you wear below dry and breathable with a 3000mvp rating to stay fresh even when working up a sweat.

Black is my go-to colour for outdoor wear because it’s undoubtedly going to get a little mucky with use, and the dark shade is perfect for hiding sweat and stains, how glamourous! The inside and hood has a hot pink lining that really sets it off and makes me feel like a warrior princess. And there’s plenty of space and storage for all of the essentials with two water repellant zip pockets perfect for keys and a phone, and an inner pocket where I keep my cash, cards and snacks. It also has an adjustable grown on hood which can be toggled to fit precisely as it won’t blow down in even the strongest of winds, which is a massive thumbs up for my long head as other jackets always seem to have such peanut sized hoods that finish on the top of my hair rather than providing cover for my forehead. And if you don’t want to have the hood out it can easily roll up and stored in the neck of the jacket.

The cuffs are finished with adjustable tabs and the hem has a drawcord to insure a close fit so that not a drop of rain or gust of wind will get past. Unlike cheaper plasticky jackets, the material is thick and strong, flexible and extremely comfortable on the skin. I don’t feel like a sweaty stiff mess wearing it, and wether I’m stopping the shivers or controlling my sweat the jacket keeps me dry and cosy throughout. A wonderful addition to my wardrobe from Trespass that gives me the freedom to enjoy fitness whatever the weather.
