I’ve yet to find a time of day that doesn’t allow for a perfect cup of coffee and a deliciously gooey warm cookie. And since this double chocolate giant is vegan-friendly and delivered to my door in just a click I can indulge my sweet tooth until my hearts content!
Executive Chef Damien Leroux owned and ran a traditional French brasserie in the town of Chateaudun where he trained in classic French patisserie under Alain Ducasse, working in 3 Michelin-Starred brigades at Le Louis XV in Monaco & The Dorchester in London. Using all-natural local produce with the most exacting high standards, Damien brings the most delicious giant cookies to Creme London and beyond for all to enjoy.
Crème is a delightful little dessert shop specialising in huge cookies, soft-serve ice cream and coffee inspired by sweet trips to New York, their menu puts a French twist on American classics with everything baked, blended and brewed daily in SOHO.
You can pick up a selection box of 6 cookies for £22, or go all out with a box of 12 cookies for £40, choosing from vegan double chocolate, milk chocolate, white chocolate miso and banana dark chocolate flavours.
Being vegan I sunk my teeth into a gooey chocolate cookie dough with dark chocolate chips whilst my family devoured the other cookies in the box and it’s safe to say that we didn’t need another meal for quite some hours later. The cookies are absolutely huge, thick yet light, soft and succulent with a delightful chewy crust and incredibly moreish.
We followed the recommendation to warm the cookies on a baking tray in the oven for 6mins and it was definitely worth the wait. Shipped fresh in biodegradable packaging, they must be consumed within three days to remain at their best or can be popped into the freezer and saved for later.
If you happen to be local you can click and collect them directly from Creme Soho yourself at a time of your choosing and fresh from their bakery, or have them delivered by bicycle across London whilst out for drinks or dinner with friends.
These sweet treats certainly put a smile on the whole family’s face this weekend as we caught up over a cup of coffee and whiled away the afternoon. Whether you go for a giant cookie each, modestly split them in half to share or serve them in place of traditional cake and biscuits, there’s a flavour and fancy to suit all ages, tastes and occasions.
It’s so exciting to see such talented chefs branching into plant-based foods and responding to the growing need for delicious, dairy-free alternatives. I’m thankful to be able to add giant chocolate cookies to the green list!
