Do You Have Diabetes? Signs & Symptoms

If you are concerned about diabetes, perhaps because you know you have a family history of it, then it is obviously a good idea to be aware of it and to make sure that you are looking out for it.

A major part of doing that will be to be aware of what the signs and symptoms of diabetes are, and that is something that you will need to think about if you are going to look after yourself generally. With that in mind, here are the main signs and symptoms to watch out for if you are worried you might have diabetes.

Urinating More Often

One of the most common signs of type 2 diabetes specifically is that you are urinating more often. Most likely, you will find yourself having to urinate at night, and if you are having this problem then it is definitely something to get checked out. Actually, having to suddenly urinate more than usual, and at night, can be a sign of a few different things, but type 2 diabetes is one of the most common of them. In any case, it’s definitely not something to ignore if you can help it.

Hunger

If you have noticed that you are generally feeling a lot hungrier than usual, that too can be a sign that you are diabetic. This is one of the earlier signs, in fact, and one that you are going to want to be aware of, because it means that you are able to get a diagnosis sooner, and that can help you a lot.

So if you notice that you are much more hungry than you used to be, you should certainly make sure that you are getting that checked out before it develops any further over time.

Blood Glucose Changes

While this is not something that you will simply know or feel to have changed, it is good to know about, and especially if you are the kind of person who tests for these kinds of things at home. In fact, that is easier than ever to do, as you can now take a hba1c test more easily than ever.

That test will tell you whether your blood glucose falls in the normal range or is considered diabetic, in which case you have a pretty firm confirmation that you have the condition, and you’ll then want to see your doctor.

Fatigue

Finally, you might notice if you have diabetes that you feel very tired a lot of the time. If this comes on quite suddenly and you are much more fatigued than you used to be, that is a sign that something is wrong, and it could well be that you have this condition.

At any rate, it’s again not the kind of thing to ignore, so make sure that you get checked out as soon as possible. It will help you to be so much healthier all in all, and it’s going to be a vital thing to consider.
