3 Things You Shouldn’t DIY For Your Wedding

Needless to say, planning a wedding is one of the most exciting times in a person’s life, but it’s also one of the most overwhelming times of a person’s life too. There’s so much planning that needs to be involved, and those little details count. Plus, there are so many aspects to consider; it’s no wonder that many couples look for ways to cut costs.

Weddings are without a doubt expensive, and there’s this expectation for it to be perfect, not just for the couple but by their guest too. The entertainment needs to be solid, the venue needs to be top-notch, the food better be exceptional, the wedding photos better be amazing, and the wedding cake better be out of this world.

So, all around, there are expectations left and right. But with that said, high expectations mean high cost, something that no one likes but deals with in the name of their special day. Honestly, DIYing for your wedding is common since not everything needs to be done by a professional. However, without a doubt, there are some things that should still be done only by professionals. So, what shouldn’t be DIYed at your wedding? Well, here’s what you need to know!

Makeup and Hairstyling

You want to look your absolute best on your wedding day, and professional makeup artists and hair stylists are skilled in enhancing your natural beauty while ensuring your look stays flawless all day. Even if you’re used to doing your own hair and makeup on a daily basis, it’s just different when it comes to your wedding.  DIY makeup and hair may not withstand the rigors of a long wedding day and countless photographs. While sure, this can be pricey, at the end of the day, it’s worth it for your special day. You want to look back on your day and at your photos in complete happiness, not say to yourself, “What was I thinking?!”.

Wedding Flowers

There seems to be this ongoing trend online for DIYing wedding flowers. But is it worth it? Chances are, it’s not, especially if there is a certain style of arrangement that you have in mind. While there are tutorials like how to make a wedding cake or how to make wedding favours online, there aren’t many tutorials online for doing your flowers.

Plus, some local flower shops won’t sell wholesale, either. There’s a lot of time that goes into arranging flowers, plus there’s the aspect of keeping them alive during transport,  so it’s honestly going to be for the best to look into a wedding florist near you. You can expect to get a good price, and you’re paying a professional to help you make your dream wedding into a reality.

Wedding Music

Seriously, wedding music isn’t nearly as simple as just creating a Spotify playlist and calling it a day. It’s going to be the music that sets the tone for your wedding day, from the ceremony to the reception. A professional DJ or live band knows how to read the crowd, keep the energy high, and smoothly transition between songs. While it doesn’t sound like it’s an art within itself, it actually is.
