Ethical Globe: Vegan Directory & Community

Ethical Globe is a directory and community created especially for vegan people, businesses, organisations and projects which proudly launched in 2020.

Their goal is to support, inspire and empower vegans of today and tomorrow to make ethically conscious decisions by providing them with the information, relationships and communities that they need to do so. They believe that independent vegan businesses need as much support as possible during these challenging times and their network, which is free to join, kindly helps to provide this support.

Their aim is to make it easier for potential vegan customers to connect with independent vegan businesses, whilst providing a clear route for people to find vegan suppliers, partners and others to work with.

Vegan businesses can register entirely for free with Ethical Globe by completing a short registration form on their website. Their website also features a very informative blog and plentiful resources section which you may also find useful.

The Vegan Community is Growing!

The vegan community continues to grow rapidly, and for good reason. There are many reasons why people are, now more than ever, choosing to go vegan, from ethical concerns about animal welfare, environmental impact, and personal health to name but a few.

One of the most common reasons people give for turning to veganism today is their ethical concerns about animal welfare. Many are waking up to the suffering, death and exploitation that animals are unnecessarily subjected to in order to provide food, clothing, beauty and convenience products and produce. Animals deserve the rights just as we do to live free from suffering, and should not be killed, eaten, enslaved or used for our human purposes, greed and gains.

Environmental Impact

Another driving factor in the acceleration of people going vegan is down to the environmental impact of animal agriculture on our earth. Animal agriculture is a major contributor to climate change, water pollution, and deforestation and by going vegan people recognise that they can reduce their impact on the environment and help to protect the planet for ourselves and future generations.

Personal Health

The third biggest influence in leading a plant-based life comes from personal health reasons. There is an ever-growing body of research which confirms that leading a plant-based diet can be extremely beneficial for health. Vegan diets are often lower in saturated fat, cholesterol and calories than omnivorous diets as well as being higher in fiber, vitamins and minerals to combat the obesity crisis and dramatically improve mental and physical health as well as quality of life.

The Growth of the Vegan Community

The growth of the vegan community is evident in so many ways; the number of vegan products on the market has increased dramatically in recent years and there are now vegan versions of just about every food type imaginable, from ice cream and burgers to cheese and sushi.

In addition, there are now many vegan restaurants and cafes opening up and adding to their menus around the world with businesses more consciously catering to the growing demand for vegan food. The popularity of plant-based diets among celebrities and athletes has also played a huge part in growing our community.

And the vegan community is also thriving online as there are now many vegan social media groups and forums where people can connect with each other, create a network, share information and get involved with activism and volunteering at meet-ups and festivals such as Vegan Camp Out.

The Future of Veganism

Whilst the future of veganism looks bright, we still have a long way to go to put an end to the suffering and exploitation of animals. The number of vegans is expected to continue to grow in the coming years and as it does it is likely that we will see even more changes in the way we eat and live. Together we can be the change that we wish to see!
